How to choose a lash artist in Vancouver, WA

A good lash artist is licensed, works clean, looks at your natural lashes before choosing a set, and is clear about prices and refills. I’m Julia, a lash artist in Vancouver, WA, and I want you to know what to look for before you book with anyone, me included.

Below is a short checklist. The quick table shows the main points, and the details follow it. You can also read what happens at a visit in my first lash extension appointment guide.

When you are ready to plan your budget, see all my service prices or my guide to lash extension prices in Vancouver, WA.

What to check What to look for Why it matters Easy way to check
License An active Washington license Shows the required training Ask to see it, or look it up
Clean workspace Fresh supplies and clean tools Protects your eyes from irritation Look at the studio and ask about the process
Consultation A talk about your natural lashes A set should fit your lashes Ask if it is free and what it covers

Licensed and Trained: What to Check

Ask whether your lash artist holds a Washington state license, and check it with the Washington State Department of Licensing if you want to be sure. I hold a Washington esthetics license, I have worked in this profession since 2015, and I am fully licensed and insured.
Look at their work too. Close-up photos of real clients show how clean and even their sets are.
A clean workspace matters just as much: fresh supplies, clean tools and a tidy station. Read more in my first lash extension appointment guide.

Checklist for choosing a lash artist

What a Good Consultation Looks Like

What a good lash consultation covers

A good consultation is a conversation about your natural lashes, your eye shape and the look you want, before any lashes are applied. At VIVA BRILLIANCE, lash health comes first, and every service is tailored to your natural lashes.
A good artist also explains the style, how long it takes, what it costs and how often you will need a refill.
I offer a free consultation. See my guide to how long lash extensions last for refill timing.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

Ask your lash artist: Are you licensed? How will you choose the weight and length for my natural lashes? What is the refill schedule and price? How do I care for the set? A good artist answers calmly and clearly.

Still deciding on a style? See my guide to classic vs hybrid vs volume lashes. If your eyes become red, swollen or painful after any service, see a doctor.
